Gentlemen prefer women with make-up on... with smokey eyes their favourite look

Gwen Stefani recently revealed that her husband prefers her appearance with make-up on - and it seems he isn't the only one.

A poll found that 73 per cent of men would prefer their partner to wear make-up at all times - with smokey eyes their favourite look.
While the vast majority of men said they prefer women to wear make-up at all times, 21 per cent admitted they only like their ladies to be dolled up for events and occasions, while a mere 6 per cent prefer the natural look.

The look was voted top because it is 'timeless' and makes a woman look 'sexy and mysterious'. It was followed by lip colour and even skin tone in the poll of 1000 men.

Emma Leslie, beauty editor from Escentual.com, said the findings were not a shock to her.
'It doesn’t surprise me that men prefer their partners with make up on,' she said.
'There's nothing more sexy than a confident woman, and make-up - even if just a bit of mascara or cover-up - can make a woman feel so much more empowered.'
The results will also not come as a surprise to singer Gwen Stefani, who is famed for her bright red lips.
She told September's Harper's Bazaar that her husband Gavin Rossdale loves her heavily made-up look.
'He likes it when I'm wearing make-up,' she said, adding that the day she was interviewed by the magazine she had, 'already put my make-up on twice today: I put it on to take my kid to school, and then I went home, washed my face, and put it on again to have lunch.'
